No moustache, no revolution

by James on Jan.08, 2010, under colossal waste of time

A series of historical portraits with the moustaches removed.

Moustache? No.

Schnurrbart? Nein.

Photoshop is still a pretty wonderous thing.  What gets me about this is someone had to first brainstorm a list of all the people from history they could think of with moustaches. Then they had to dust off the ole Wacom tablet and tediously clone stamp for hours and hours.

If you scroll through and give them all a good look, you’ll notice how mostly impotent and unscary they all are. Adolf Hitler just looks like somebody’s gay uncle. Still evil, though.

“You boys liken zee popsikles? I hast many in meine basement.”

The only other one of note is the iconic portrait of Ernesto “Che” Guevara. I had always wished he had a girlfriend or someone to tell him to shave that nasty caterpillar off his face. All socialist disagreements aside, Castro probably hates him just for his facial hair.

Ironic that so many scenesters will still wear almost anything with Che Guevara on it, when you KNOW they don’t have a CLUE who he is.

It has to be the moustache. See the rest here.
